B&W Baseball Inks

Hope all is well with everyone!!

Its been a while sense I've posted anything in my blog. I wanted to share a project that work on for a company called Creative Arts.  This company is amazing to work for. This particular project involved a little bit of history of baseball.  I created and illustrated 6 images that you see here that are illustrating the famous of all time players in the MLB.  Babe Ruth,  Ty Cobb, Joe Dimaggio, Jackie Robinson.

The project was made for specifically for the St. Petersburg Museum. That section of the museum of this project was called Schrader's Little Cooperstown.  The design and layout they came up with was amazing.  Schrader is a man that always wanted to display his collection to a large audience so he finally did. He has been collecting signed baseballs sense he was a little boy. In this exhibition he has over 4,000 signed balls and more of all the famous players of all time. Its something amazing to see if you are a really big baseball fan!!

It was a really cool project to work on and I give thanks to Bill, he is the former Senior Designer and Project Manager that I had the privilege to work for.  I've also added some of the shots of the work I did as you see in the museum. Hope you enjoy!!

Hats of Time: Millinery Mother

One of the final piece for my personal show. Its called Millinery Mother, she's the creator of all Milliner's. Milliners were typically woman hat designers in the 1800s.  The origin of the name is likely the Middle English Milener, as in an inhabitant of Milan or one who makes or deals in items from the Italian city, known for its fashion and clothing. Enjoy!

Hats of Time

Hey Everyone!

Hope all is well, its been awhile since my last post. Im working on a series called Hats of Time. At the end of the summer Im going to have a three man show with Matteo Caloiaro and Brook Olivares-Caloiaro. So far I have two pieces to show. My plans for the series is to show the fashion and history behind wearing a hat and the symbol for wearing a hat.  Each piece of clothing you wear means something and for hats its the same thing, each type of hat means and has a history behind it.  More information to come about each piece, Please enjoy!!

Hows it going!! I've been very busy lately that I've neglected my blog. I just wanted to share with you my promotional package I've sent out to art directors last month. It was a fun project to do! So here is a little step by step photos of my package. It was design to fit at least 10 postcards. I made my own sleeve to carry the package after the little book was wrap around my poster that I design. So my idea was to look like a cold cut meat with paper wrap around it to protect it but when you unravel it its a poster that you could pin on your wall. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for blogging and hope we meet! Cheers, Oliver

I bring to you my recent work for my show I had the 6th of Jan. It was showed in Daas Gallery, I wanted to thank David Acevedo and Xavier Brignoni for this opportunity to show in their gallery.

The show is going to be up until the end of Jan. if you missed the show swing by! All the work is for sale and I have prints on request if anyone is interested. This series was inspired by interesting animals and fashion. I had two months to create this series. My inspiration came from two artist, Alexander McQueen, and J.C Leyendecker. McQueen was a great fashion designer! He had intrigued work of beauty in his clothing. And J.C Leyendecker was a great designer in his illustration with male figures.

I wanted to thank everyone that went to the show and the support! So hope you enjoy and if you have any question for prints or originals please email!

Blue

Hows it going!

I just wanted to share a couple things I've been working on. As of last month I've been working on a children's book called Electrical Wizard! Written by a great author Elizabeth Rusch. It will be published by a great company CandleWick Press. The story is about Nikola Tesla, he was a great electrical inventor! The official book will be out in late 2012 or very early 2013! The second children book is about Baseball Mud! It will be published by Lerner Publishing. Great stories and excited to illustrate them!

One more thing, the piece underneath was for fun, I wanted to paint with a over all blue pallet. I added a design element around the piece with scrap design paper that I had for a while. ENJOY!! Have a good Weekend everyone!!

Quote:

“My imagination is on Fire. The universe towers in my mind a great overpowering mystery. The significance of the tiniest speck of bark on the pine tree assumes the proportions of the infinite sky. My brain almost bursts with the effort to really appreciate the meaning of life, of existence. I ardently promise with all my soul to do my best to make my short life of use, to add an infinitesimal light to the world”
